We take limited reservations for parties of 4-10 guests, with most of our guests being walk-ins. We keep the full bar, the full patio (weather permitting) and about half our indoor tables open for walk in guests. We open up reservations a month in advance, so if you want to book for October 16th we start booking that date on September 16th. The best way to make a reservation is by emailing info@izakayaminato.com or calling (207) 613-9939. We welcome and encourage walk-ins, so stop on by and if we can’t seat you right away we can add you to the wait list and text when your spot opens up, there are great places in the neighborhood to get a snack, cocktail or even shop while you wait!
We have a special gluten free menu we offer, just ask your server when you sit down to take a look. We also have a dedicated GF fryer, although sadly our JFC is not gluten free. We do use a good amount of soy sauce (and some flour) in our kitchen so please make sure the server knows your level of sensitivity as we are not a gluten free kitchen.
Our Omakase option is a great way to explore our menu, letting the chef decide what to send out so you can sit back and relax! The food comes out family style, so we do ask that the whole table participates and are unable to do an Omakase for 1 guest. It is about 5 courses, with the number of dishes per course depending on the size of your group. It always had the hits of the menu, like our Motoyaki Oyster, JFC and Sashimi while often including an off menu dish. Unfortunately we can not accommodate dietary restrictions (like gluten free or vegetarian) and in that case would have that guest order a la carte. It does need to be ordered one hour before last call to allow the kitchen time to prepare the food and so you are not rushed, but you do not need to pre order it. We highly suggest larger groups do the Omakase as it makes for a fun and memorable meal:)
We do, the good old fashioned paper kind! Feel free to stop by any day we are open, even during daytime hours as someone in the kitchen can usually help you out. If you are not local you can give us a call at (207) 613-9939 and we can process your card over the phone and mail the card out to either you or the recipient. We sure do! During the warmer months we put out tables on our patio and in front of the restaurant, keeping all outdoor tables open for walk in guests. Unfortunately we do not have any protection from the elements so the patio is a weather permitting option. Well behaved dogs are welcome to join their owners who are sitting outside.
*We keep the patio going as long as we can but once the sun sets it can get a bit chilly so bring layers if you want to sit outside.
